“Nearly half of respondents (48.3%) had their first experience of homelessness under the age of 24 – 41.0% were 18 and under.” We want to thank the volunteers and Community Social Planning Council of Greater Victoria for putting together this data. This information is so important because it allows us to spread awareness of the who, the why, and what it will take to #EndYouthHomelessness. For instance, in the 2018 Point in Time Count “youth identified conflict with a parent or guardian as the top reason for housing loss.” Which is why safe and stable housing for youth is vital.
