Jo-Ann Roberts is an award-winning, veteran journalist. She was a host on CBC Radio for 20 years, most recently with All Points West, weekday afternoons on CBC Radio One on Vancouver Island. She is an expert on Public Broadcasting and has taught at the university level and provided workshops on media literacy.
Born in PEI, Jo-Ann has been living on Vancouver Island for 12 years. In 2015, she was the Green Party candidate for Victoria in the federal election.
Since then she continues to work on issues affecting climate change, literacy, housing, democratic and income inequality. Her interest in housing issues has led her to become an advocate for housing vulnerable youth as a way of preventing homeless in general. On a consultant basis, she currently liaises with the community on behalf of the Threshold Housing Society to promote awareness about youth homelessness and to support advancement initiatives. She is also on the board for Literacy Victoria.
Jo-Ann is married to Ken Kelly, General Manager of the Victoria Downtown Business Association. They have four children and one grandchild.
