Kacie Stirrett

I have spent most of my adult life working with youth and going to school. In 2014 I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts in English & Sociology. I spent several of my university years as a Girl Guide Leader. Through this wonderful organization, I had the honour of working with a Pathfinder unit run out of the Calgary Young Offenders Center. The girls I met there inspired me to take my education to the next level and I recently graduated from UVIC with a Bachelor of Social Work, specializing in Child Welfare. With this program I had the privilege of working with many youth & understanding MCFD.

I believe that every youth needs someone to fiercely believe in them and hope that the youth I work with know that I so greatly believe in their ability to be good people and do great things! I am fondly known as ‘Grandma Kacie’ for always asking if ‘I’m hip with the lingo’ and can often been found in one of the houses toting around Fran, my bearded dragon, who loves to share her lizzy snuggles with any of the residents.

Every day is a gift and I so greatly appreciate all the youth I meet and work with at Threshold.
